During a tailgate the best way to make queso is in a crock pot. My favorite is the Famous Queso Dip!
Tailgates can sometimes start extra early so you definitely need to eat the most important meal of the day! One of my favorites to make is biscuits and gravy! It is easy and everyone loves it!
Pillsbury Grand Flaky Layers- 1 can
Pioneer Brand Gravy Mix- Country Sausage Flavor
Jimmy Dean Reduced Fat Sausage
Preheat oven and bake to directions the Pillsbury Grand calls for. While those are baking start the prep for the gravy. Boil the water and follow directions as Pioneer Brand states. At the same time begin browning the sausage in skillet. Once browned stir into gravy mix. Then get biscuits out and serve!
Food is a repetitive topic during this blog series! My friend over at CaseyLeeWalker.com brought this to the OU v. TCU football game last year and it was a hit that WILL be returning this year!
The recipe came from HERE.
- 2 (8 ounce) packages of cream cheese, softened
- 1 (8 ounce) Cool Whip
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 6 Snickers bars, chopped
Mix all ingredients together.
Chill overnight to better blend the flavors.
Serve with pretzels or graham crackers.
It is AMAZINGLY addictive!
Tailgates and snacks go hand in hand. One of my favorites is SO ridiculously simple.
Peanuts and Candy corn= PayDay! Just mix together and enjoy!

What is a tailgate without good ole beer!

Here are my favorite beers to tailgate with.
Now whats a tailgate with out the classic Silver Bullet? Coors Light is a classic easy to drink beer. Great when it is hot and you need to cool down! Also, the perfect beer during drinking games!
Craft beer needs some love and one of my favorites is Blood and Honey from Revolver.
Also, I am loving a couple of Fort Worth brews:
Martin House– Gateway XPA
Rahr– Buffalo Butt
What are your favorite tailgate brews?
These things are amazing! You CANNOT eat just one. Originally called the “Monster” Cookie my friends and I have jokingly named it the “CRACK COOKIE” because they are tremendously addicting! Which means GREAT for tailgate season!
[picture via Recipe Girl]
1 cup margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
Pinch of salt
1 cup peanut butter
3 cups oatmeal
1 cup flour
1 cup M&M’s (BONUS USE PEANUT BUTTER M & M’s… DELISH)
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
Cream together margarine and sugars. Stir in eggs. Mix in the rest of the ingredients with a wooden spoon. Drop tablespoon of cookie dough onto parchment paper covered cookie sheets. Bake about 10 minutes at 350°. Remove from oven and let sit on pan for 5 minutes before removing to wire rack to cool.
I LOVE fast easy recipes and BONUS is if they are healthy. Edamame is a favorite for us so if dinner maybe running late or we are just looking for a snack I can easily do the recipe below in under 5 minutes!
1 bag Frozen Edamame- I like Birds Eye.
Crushed Red Pepper
Garlic & Pepper seasoning
Follow bags directions on bag. Once cooked empty into large bowl. Drizzle a little olive oil and then sprinkle garlic and pepper seasoning, salt and crushed red pepper. I like to add a little, mix and then add more until it reaches the flavor I like. Usually I just have to do that twice… especially with the red pepper it can get a little too spicy for my taste if not!
What is your favorite fast, easy and healthy snack recipe?
I don’t really like change but lately I have gotten/tried/found some [new to me] things that I am loving. So I thought I would share!
Lip Gloss– This gives a great sheen and it also gives a cool tingly feeling… Perfect on these hot summer days.
Workout Pants– These are comfy and reversible! Keep my legs cool and how fun is this color!
Flowers– Peonies. I just love these.
Song– Kongos- Come with me now. Great pump up song for working out or going out!
Monogram Tote– This isn’t the one I have but I am loving the canvas and modern monogram! Great bags to throw all my stuff in especially when I am heading to workout!
Mini Watermelons– These are still pretty good size but it is great that you can cut one and keep one! I hate having to buy one huge water melon for me and Mark!
What are a few of your favorite things?!
FINALLY, the LAST #100daysofhappiness post!
I love getting to enjoy a cup of coffee on our front porch. PS have I said how much I really just love Tervis Tumblers?
And for my last picture I leave you with a John Lennon quote. Happiness if what you should strive for in life and while life is tough you can find small miracle and goodness in the everyday things!
While this experience has been so much fun challenge it has been hard to remember to stop and take pictures all the time! I am ready to get back to regular updates and posts!
