The summer months in Texas are HOT and I knew I would need a trendy but comfortable sandal since I am pregnant.  So many of my cute sandals have NO support and are terrible to walk in.  Enter the Sanibel Sandal to fill my summer sandal need.

I can’t tell you how amazing and comfy these sandals are! Which is especially going to be nice for my pregnant [and hopefully NOT swollen feet] self this summer! I’m on the go with a toddler and shoes that are comfortable with support are totally needed.  These seriously feel like wearing tennis shoes but look so much nicer!!

I love that these are trendy and can be paired easily with so many different outfits.  I purposely picked out a gold tone so these sandals could be an accent to most every color under the sun.  The golden hue looks great with every skin tone too, which is perfect in the summer when you change shades a lot!  These sandals can be dressed down with athletic pants and a t-shirt and can be dressed up with a sundress. The perfect sandal for any busy mom!

What are you favorite summer sandals?

Pregnancy Week 1-12

*Please note this post may contain affiliate links.

Well hello everyone! If you didn’t hear the BIG news we are pregnant with baby #2! I am so excited to being blogging pregnancy #2.  Moving forward I am hoping to do updates about every 2 weeks! This will cover my first trimester though since we just announced!

IMG_4752 2

The early days: I tested about 100 times because I just couldn’t believe it! We actually had a chemical pregnancy about two months before this so I was SUPER nervous about every little thing once I saw that “positive”.  So I kept testing to watch the positive line get darker… anyone else crazy about taking tests?!?!??

Symptoms: I didn’t really feel pregnant but my chest was sore.  That was really my only symptom until week 6 and then the nausea hit.  This started much earlier this go around and when I finally thought I was making a turn for the better I was up all night every 30 minutes throwing up… which landed me in the ER.  Official diagnosis: hyperemesis gravidarum. Now I am taking diclegis and it is working AMAZING! I feel so much better and I have actually been able to keep weight on!

Week 10: Saying no to the genetic test.  This was so hard to say no to.  It seems like everyone these days is doing it to find out the gender.  BUT goodness because I am not high risk the test would be almost $400…. that buys a lot of diapers y’all.  I also like that “finding out” is a good midway point and something to look forward to.  BUT it was so hard to resist doing it! I talked with my doctor and we both came to this choice and I am happy with it!

IMG_4707

Overall: I have just felt more tired but having a toddler keeps you on your toes most of the day.  I don’t have much of a bump and no significant weight gain at this point.  I don’t know if it is because I have experienced the joy of pregnancy and motherhood but man I am way more nervous this second time then the first.  I just always compare everything to the first go around ha!

I am looking forward to a hopefully *blissful* second trimester… knock on wood!

I am looking forward to sharing this journey with you all! I can wait for the fun, fashion and family to be taken to a whole new level!

What advice/tips/tricks can you mama’s share with me?  So much has changed since my first go around!

Hair Tutorial

*Please note this post may contain affiliate links!

Hi y’all! I get a lot of questions about how I curl my hair.  So I finally gave in and made a tutorial video.  I am not the best at making videos so bear with me as I learn what I am doing.  If you have questions about anything let me know.

This is a super fast way (7 minutes), to curl your hair! I find that the curls last much longer too!

Here are the products I use:

Chi Straightener

Mason Pearson Brush

Heat Protectant

PS I round brush blow dry my hair before I curl so I have some volume!

Feeling SAS-sy

*This post may contain affiliate links!

I am so excited to be partnering with SAS Footwear. They have recently introduced the ultimate ballet flat named the “Scenic”.  They graciously sent me a pair to try out and here are some of my favorite features:

  • 73 sizes & 5 widths with multiple colors and patterns
  • Premium leather
  • Removable/Washable footbed- with shock absorbing cushion IMG_3959

Can I just say how great these shoes are for busy moms?!?!  They feel like tennis shoes but are quality ballet flats.  I love how easy they are on the go and that they can help make any outfit look so put together.

I went with red because I am a huge OU Football Fan and I thought these would be perfect for those long days tailgating. These also would be perfect for Valentines Day too!  Something I really noticed after wearing them all day was how I wasn’t sore when I went to bed. I’ve realized as I have started getting older that I need to take care of my body to avoid nightly aches and pains and these shoes really help with those aches.

These scenic flats are a great investment, look adorable and something I think are something every mom should have.

What are your favorite flats?

Just Don’t.

I really don’t know where to being this post… I don’t even know how I feel about posting it.  I began writing it over the weekend when news broke that my best friend’s brother in law was killed in a car accident by a suspected drunk driver.  An innocent 19 year old kid was taken from his family a week before Christmas…at the hands of someone who could have called an uber, a friend or a cab.

I am sad. I am angry. I am heart broken.

A few months into marriage and my best friend and her husband are dealing with the unthinkable; all because someone got behind the wheel who shouldn’t have. I don’t know what to do or say that will help them…I know that not much can be done to take away the anguish they are experiencing.

What I do know I can do is ask you to PLEASE make arrangements for your holiday festivities.  HAVE FUN but be safe.  Make plans AHEAD of drinking, because we know that when you have been under the influence you don’t always make the best decisions.  Simply call an uber, ride home with a friend who you KNOW has been responsible or call a taxi.

just don't do it

I know this message is expressed time and again but please, just stop and think about what your actions may cause.  The holidays should be a time of joy and celebration so please let it be just that and plan ahead for the safety of you and the safety of others.

Mom Hack

I was scrolling though Instagram the other day and came across a GENIUS mom hack that I wanted to share with you guys… all thanks to @aandar2014. I always feel like as moms we need to share the wealth of knowledge.

IMG_2316

I ventured to Dollar Tree and found these fruit infuser cups.  Even though the holes on the juice box punch area are smaller than the straw it came with it was easy to punch it through with the straw that came with the cup.  The straws have the thick ring that prevent it from being pulled out… #toddlerproof.  Check out the cup in action below.

This is so perfect for my non milk drinking kid.  So many places have juice boxes but they are a PAIN to deal with since he will squeeze them all over the place.

Seriously, thanks to AAndar2014 for the awesome tip!
