Summer has been a fun time to slow down and to really evaluate a totally new and much slower lifestyle. We have really enjoyed a little slower pace but we felt like something was missing. We were lucky enough to take a trip right before the shut downs began. However, we travel a lot as a family and we realized how much we needed a little getaway. We made the decision to make a quick getaway (literally we booked it 4 or 5 days before we left) that we felt comfortable doing.
It is so hard right now to know what is right and wrong but we discussed it and knew mentally we all needed a little time away to relax and unwind.

Where we headed
We chose to visit a fun little beach town near Galveston that was only about a 5 hour drive from us. There aren’t many restaurants so we would be cooking most of our meals where we stayed. We loved the house we stayed in. It actually has a “mirrored” house next door too!
We went with part of our “framily” so the kids thought that was so much fun! We were able to rent a golf cart which was really nice to lug all the beach gear. The beach was not far and was very walkable as well.
Refreshed
Every morning I walked on the beach and there is nothing better for the soul then quiet times with the sound of waves. We were really able to recharge and have a wonderful time. We didn’t explore many places since we wanted to socially distance but honestly that made everything so low key and relaxing because NO plans!

Have you had a quick getaway yet?
