8 Goals for 2018

2017 was a fabulous year.  Blogging and Instagram has really started growing for me and I have been loving that creative outlet…. all thanks to a small goal I set last year when I came up with 7 goals for 2017.  Beyond the goal of blogging more, l I did a pretty good job at reaching and sustaining all of my goals [just 1 was a major struggle].

8 Goals for 2018

Since, I had such success in 2017 I decided to do 8 goals this year for 2018.

I am going to begin my list with my one goal I struggled with this year…

  1. Practice Yoga more often: I know the benefits and how good it makes me feel but I struggled this year with keeping it on my schedule [I made a goal of once a week].  Hopefully, in 2018 I can find a good class and keep up with it more frequently than this year.
  2. Be present: this is SO hard sometimes as a blogger & instagrammer but I want to put my phone down and make sure not to worry about Instagram perfect pictures as much.
  3. Pay it forward: I talked about it in my fall bucket list and I LOVE paying it forward so hopefully I can aim for doing something to “pay it forward” at least once a month!
  4. Drink more water: I have a bad habit of chugging once I “feel” thirsty. Hoping by tracking my water I can stay hydrated better.
  5. Try something new: Don’t know what but it is always fun to get out of your comfort zone.
  6. Read more books: I recently joined a book club and have been loving it so hopefully I can take more time to read a few books a month.
  7. Continue finding a “yay in everyday”: something I started but have still struggled with so I wanted to make it one of my top 8 goals! Follow the hashtag #yayineveryday on Instagram!
  8. Have more patience: I am a fiery red head and this is a social grace I really struggle with.  I need to learn to count to 10 before getting aggravated; whether it is driving, or when something isn’t being done “my way”.

That’s a wrap, those are some of the top goals I want to works on for 2018?  What are yours?

Just Don’t.

I really don’t know where to being this post… I don’t even know how I feel about posting it.  I began writing it over the weekend when news broke that my best friend’s brother in law was killed in a car accident by a suspected drunk driver.  An innocent 19 year old kid was taken from his family a week before Christmas…at the hands of someone who could have called an uber, a friend or a cab.

I am sad. I am angry. I am heart broken.

A few months into marriage and my best friend and her husband are dealing with the unthinkable; all because someone got behind the wheel who shouldn’t have. I don’t know what to do or say that will help them…I know that not much can be done to take away the anguish they are experiencing.

What I do know I can do is ask you to PLEASE make arrangements for your holiday festivities.  HAVE FUN but be safe.  Make plans AHEAD of drinking, because we know that when you have been under the influence you don’t always make the best decisions.  Simply call an uber, ride home with a friend who you KNOW has been responsible or call a taxi.

just don't do it

I know this message is expressed time and again but please, just stop and think about what your actions may cause.  The holidays should be a time of joy and celebration so please let it be just that and plan ahead for the safety of you and the safety of others.

This year I decided not to really do gift guides since there are so many out there.  However, if you follow me on Instagram you know I have been throwing ideas out here and there.

Well I came across another cool gift that I wanted to share with you all. This is a plush duck [comes as a bunny too] that is also has a hot and cold therapy feature! The  pouch is even infused with the calming scent of natural chamomile and lavender amidst eco-friendly mineral micro beads. I also love the portable size.

We have has quite the last few weeks with sickness in our house (our first ear infections happened) and this little duck has been one of Tripp’s favorite things to love on!

This toy makes as a great soother and playmate and you can buy it here.

OH PS!!!! PLSHIE10 will give you 10% off!!

Thread Up Review

I am so excited to bring you all this review.  I have been eyeing thredUP for awhile now and I was so excited to a get a chance to partner with them to try out their stuff! You all know how much I love bargains and fashion.

ThredUp is a modern day consignment store.  You can send in clothes to them to consign [stay tuned for a blog review on this] and you can shop for gently loved items online.  This is seriously such a life saver as a busy mom!

The site is so easy to navigate and search for items you want and need.  I found several wonderful items to add to my fall/winter wardrobe and I am also eyeing a few things for an upcoming Christmas party

I loved how easy everything working into my wardrobe.

  1.  Photo 1: The new item is the Sweat Rain plaid teal blouse.  It is so versatile for the odd winter months we have here in Texas.  I can layer it up or down!
  2. Photo 2: The new items are the black shoes and the black blouse.  The shoes are BCBG and have amazing jewel/pearl accents and the black Equipment blouse is black on black leopard print so you know I had to get it!
  3. Photo 3: Is a black and white stripe Banana Republic shirt.  I had to toss my old one [because it is such a staple piece it was worn out] and I found this one and snagged it!
  4. Photo 4: The new item is the black and white tunic sweater.  It is so easy to throw on with leggings for major comfort and a put together look… totally mom win.  It is Forever 21.

Just for you all use code: GABBINGGINGER. It gives 50% off entire orders to the first 50 people on everything, and is valid till the end of this year. Feel free to spread the word!

I have put together some fun quick links to take you to some of my favorite searches within thredUP.
