Powerbeats2 Review

Well hello everyone! I have several blog post on the horizon but I have been trying some new items out since Christmas and I wanted to give you my insight.  Most of the time I research things before I purchase but when my brother asked what I wanted for Christmas I said I wanted wireless earbuds for working out.

Mainly I wanted them because my klutzy self has swatted at my headphone cords and had my phone go flying a few times. It is so embarrassing and you hold your breath to make sure you didn’t mess your phone up!

So my brother ended up getting me Powerbeats2.  I have used them several times during different activities and have LOVED them.  I thought the around the ear clip would bother me but I don’t even notice it!  They stay powered up for a good amount of time.  It was SUPER easy to pair with my iPhone.  They also include ear-tips for a variety of ear shapes which is great because I HATE those big earbuds in my ear…. OUCH!

Overall, if you are someone who listens to a lot of music which being active these are TOTALLY for you.  They come in several colors too!

What are you favorite fitness accessories?

Favorite Things: Best of Beauty

A new week and a new post about my favorite things.  This week I am covering some of my favorite beauty products.

favthings

Tarte [Foundation]:  I LOVE this foundation.  It has GREAT coverage and stays on ALL day without feeling heavy.

Tarte [Airbrush Foundation]: This powder is great with or with out base.  Gives great coverage.  I use it with BB cream only OR when I have a night out I use their foundation I mentioned above.

Make Up Forever [Aqua Smoky Extravagant Waterproof Mascara]: This mascara gives my lashes lots of volume and umph! I also like the non-waterproof version and it works just as well! I got a sample and that is how I feel in love! The brush was a little bit of an adjustment but I really love it.

Mason Pearson Brush [Popular]: This brush was a huge splurge that I got for Christmas.  But almost a month later and I love it.  It really has helped my hair look healthier and fuller.  I also helps spread out your natural scalp oil!  I am WAY overdue for a haircut and actually have gotten compliments on how good my hair looks.  This brush is DEFINITELY worth the splurge.

EOS [Lip Balm]: This stuff is seriously addicting.  I can find it easily in my huge purse.  It stays on strong and really does relieve my chapped lips!

Fantastic Philanthropies: Arthritis Foundation

Hi everyone! One of my goals of this year to is to incorporate more philanthropy into my blog.  So I have decide to spotlight outstanding organizations! This first organization is near and dear to my heart; The Arthritis Foundation.

Arthritis has affected so many family members and friends of mine that I wanted to get involved to help find a cure. So over the last 2 years I have sat on the Jingle Bell Run Committee and the Walk to Cure Arthritis committee as part of the Arthritis Foundation of North Texas.

Did you know that Arthritis is not just a disease of old age. Two-thirds of people with arthritis are under the age of 65, including 300,000 children?! The Foundation not only holds events to help raise awareness and money to find a cure but the website and staff are full of information for those who are affected.  They help give health information health information, information for families of those affected and event camps for children who have JA.

Here is a great overall description of what Arthritis Foundation does and how to get involved:

The Arthritis Foundation is committed to raising awareness and reducing the unacceptable impact of arthritis, a disease which must be taken as seriously as other chronic diseases because of its devastating consequences. We are leading the way to conquer the nation’s leading cause of disability through increased education, outreach, research, advocacy and other vital programs and services.

Our goal is to reduce by 20 percent the number of people suffering from arthritis-related physical activity limitations by 2030.

Make Arthritis Unacceptable: We build involvement in the cause via advocacy, events, fundraising appeals, media relations and consumer information.Provide access to the information and resources needed to minimize the impact of arthritis: We mobilize funds and capacity to create broader reach and meaningful engagement that helps people adopt and maintain healthy behaviors.

Drive a strategic research agenda: We mobilize public and private funding as well as societal alignment around goals and strategies that offer major benefits for people with arthritis.

Influence policies and strategies to produce better outcomes for people with arthritis: We mobilize support for public and private policies that support arthritis prevention, innovation and access to quality care.

Reduce arthritis-related disparities in health and health care: We create greater capacity to assist underserved populations that have a significant arthritis burden.

What YOU Can Do

PARTICIPATE: Join an Arthritis Foundation program and improve your pain. Our fitness programs are designed to help you live better with arthritis. Moving is the best medicine.

ADVOCATE: Help change policies to improve the lives of people with arthritis and make treatments more effective and affordable.

VOLUNTEER: Find your local Arthritis Foundation office and get involved.

JOIN: Get numerous benefits by becoming a member of the Arthritis Foundation. Also, look for an Arthritis Walk, Jingle Bell Run/Walk or other event near you and raise money to support our work.

DONATE: For every dollar donated to the Arthritis Foundation, more than 75 cents goes directly to fund research and interventions for people with arthritis. The Arthritis Foundation meets the strict qualifications of the Better Business Bureau’s Wise Giving Alliance, ensuring your tax-deductible gift is spent in ways that will best help people with arthritis.

If you have a Nonprofit organization you think I should spotlight please let me know! I am also looking to spotlight up and coming Young Professionals!
